{"id":829,"date":"2025-12-06T12:55:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-06T11:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stuff.frankdux.de\/?p=829"},"modified":"2025-12-13T18:17:58","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T17:17:58","slug":"stranded-a-short-movie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stuff.frankdux.de\/?p=829","title":{"rendered":"Stranded &#8211; a short movie"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This post describes very briefly the &#8220;making of&#8221; my short Instagram reel which you can find <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DR5U94ZiNRR\/?igsh=MWEzbHdjdDRtZXR0cA%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Motivation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The story was inspired by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DJHPCx3x5Ve\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DJHPCx3x5Ve\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reel from Charlie Reynolds<\/a> and his brave astronaut riding a motorbike in Bolivia&#8230; I wanted to achieve something similar with footage I had available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Source material<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I traveled in the north-western desert of Saudi Arabia recently; see my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/frankdux_germany\/?igsh=MXE4OThxajZ0d2EwbQ%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">instagram posts<\/a> about that trip. I used the Eleven Multilingual V2 speech model with the &#8220;Tino&#8221; voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the used video snippets and sound bites which I did not create myself originate from <a href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pixabay<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The incoming request sound bite was created by <a href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/sound-effects\/incoming-request-77997\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SageTyrtle<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The intro astronaut video which I use as overlay on the landscape was provided by <a href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/videos\/astronaut-exoplanet-alien-planet-191252\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paul Jean<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The video with the military codes is <a href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/videos\/spy-cia-fbi-mi6-military-travel-142363\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The data transmission sound was created by <a href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/sound-effects\/data-transmission-sound-from-14664-72309\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GameramPC<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The distress signal was created by <a href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/sound-effects\/distress-signal-107676\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EdgeofOctober<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The wind background noise was done by <a href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/users\/tanweraman-29554143\/?utm_source=link-attribution&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=music&amp;utm_content=350398\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aman Kumar<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The rocket launch sound effect was designed by <a href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/de\/users\/sonixfxsounds-49053354\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SonixFXSounds<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I created the video clip of launching rockets from Maraya with a photo I took on site, and a prompt to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perplexity.ai\/pro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Perplexity Pro AI<\/a>. Similar for the walking soldier.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Used tools<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I filmed my videos on location in Saudi Arabia with an Osmopocket 3. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything was mixed together into a video with DaVinci Resolve 19.
